MPLS VPN Troubleshooting Practice Labs

This section provides some troubleshooting labs to help you to consolidate troubleshooting skills learned in this chapter.

The troubleshooting labs described are based on the network topology shown in Figure 6-49.

The goal of each lab is to restore IP connectivity across the MPLS VPN backbone between CE1 and CE2.

Detailed instructions for loading these base configurations onto your lab routers can be found in Appendix B.

NOTE

Note that TDP is used as the label protocol for all MPLS VPN troubleshooting labs. This is because LDP is not supported (at the time of this writing) on the 2600 platform, with the exception of the 2691.

Troubleshooting Lab 1

Q1:

mjlnet_CE1 and mjlnet_CE2 have IP connectivity to Chengdu_PE and HongKong_PE, respectively, but no routes are exchanged across the MPLS VPN backbone between the CE routers.

Troubleshoot this issue, and restore end-to-end IP connectivity across the MPLS VPN backbone between mjlnet_CE1 and mjlnet_CE2.
